Wet walls, moulds, saltpeter, traces of infiltration, paint release, mouldy smell... Humidity problems are among the most common and destructive in the building. They degrade materials, affect air quality, cause respiratory pathologies and can eventually weaken the structure.

The trap? Treat symptoms without understanding the origin. Paint a damp wall, install a dehumidifier, inject a moisture-resistant resin... so many ineffective solutions if the root cause is not identified.

Different sources of moisture

 

Roofing infiltrations

Broken tiles, defective zincing, degraded watertightness: water infiltrates from the top.

Hair lifts

The water from the ground rises in the walls by capillaryness. Typical old buildings without watertight barriers.

Side infiltrations

Failure to seal facades, damaged joints, cracks, lack of drainage: water penetrates through walls.

Condensation

Poor ventilation, defective insulation, thermal bridges: the humidity of the air condenses on the cold walls.

Pipeline leaks

Drinking water or wastewater: hidden leaks (under slab, in bulkheads) cause invisible damage.

1. Full building inspection

Interior, exterior, roof, basement, pipes, ventilation. Location of wetlands.

2. Hygrometric measurements

Analysis of humidity in walls, floors, ambient air. Detection of abnormally humid areas.

3. Thermography (if necessary)

Visualization of thermal bridges and condensation zones.

4. Sealing tests

Checking the effectiveness of watertight barriers (roof, facades, bases).

5. Diagnosis of causes

Analysis of the context (drainage, ventilation, nature of the land, age of the building...).

6. Recommendations

Adapted solutions: roof repair, peripheral drainage, resin injection, VMC, tank, facade treatment...
